Here are some of my insights from the infographic visual book summary of The Legend Of The Monk And The Merchant by Terry Felber:

Principle 1: Work Hard and God Will Prosper You

Hard work is the beginning of success (Deuteronomy 28:4)

Work hard at something you love and you will see the blessing of God in that venture.

Principle 2: Financial Prosperity = Soul Prosperity

God’s will is for us to prosper so that we can help expand His kingdom on earth. 3 John 2 clearly tells us that God wants us to prosper even as our souls prosper.

Jesus tells us to seek first the kingdom of God and all these things will be added to you (Matthew 6:33). Scripture also tells us to delight in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart (Psalm 37:4)

Principle 3: A Man Must Provide For His Family

A man must do whatever he can to provide for his family otherwise he has denied his faith (1 Timothy 5:8).

Principle 4: Trials Develop Character

Trials develop character and prepares us for increased blessings.

God allows challenges to make us stronger and effective to accomplish His purpose in our lives.

Principle 5: Take Responsibility

Take responsibility for problems that are the result of your own bad decisions.

Don’t displace the blame.

Principle 6: Challenges as Stepping Stones

See challenges as stepping stones and NOT as obstacles.

It is our choice and we can choose the role of a victim or a victor!

Principle 7: Meek Before God & Bold Before Men

Matthew 5:5 is a passage about how the meek will inherit the eart and it is often misunderstood.

What it means is to be meek before God.

However, be bold before men!

Principle 8: Be Debt-Free and Live Below Means

Romans 13:8 clearly says owe nothing to men except the obligation to love your fellow brothers and sisters.

The best way to live debt-free and below your means is to create and follow a budget.

Principle 9: Always Keep To Your Budget

Prepare a budget and keep to your budget.

It takes practice and discipline but this principle is key to financial success.

Principle 10: Loaning Money Ruins Relationships

One of the fastest ways of destroying a relationship is loaning money.

Instead, teach others how to manage and grow money.

Principle 11: Tithe to Honour God

Everything good in our lives (including money) is a gift from God.

It is vital to set aside the first 10% of your income to honour God (Malachi 3:8-10) .

Principle 12: Power of Partnership

Understand the power of partnership between kings (business people) and the priests.

Clergy and laity in partnership can further God’s kingdom.
